On Sunday, Feb. 16, former David W. Butler High School standout Matthew Kenney’s current college team, the Queens Royals, won 16-11 in their NCAA Division II baseball game against the Appalachian State Mountaineers.

The game took place at Jim and Bettie Smith Stadium. This was their third matchup against the Mountaineers this season.

The Royals’ next game is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 19 at 4 p.m. at Founders Park against South Carolina Gamecocks.
