Every four years MCSO staff have an opportunity to dedicate themselves to public service and take the Oath of Office.
A Sheriff swearing in their personnel through affirmation of the Oath of Office is an important and solemn occasion. This has even more significance in the state of North Carolina where the Office of Sheriff is constitutionally mandated and serves as the highest-ranking law enforcement officer in each county.
