Kenneth "KD" Williams has been named Interim Chief of Police for the Matthews Police Department.
The Town of Matthews today announced that Kenneth "KD" Williams has been named Interim Chief of Police for the Matthews Police Department.
KD has 28 years of law enforcement experience with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. During his time with CMPD, he held various positions including Commander of Internal Affairs and Commander of the Special Investigations Bureau. He retired from CMPD as Deputy Chief of the Administrative Services Group. Most recently, KD was Vice President of Enterprise Accounts for G4S Secure Solutions, one of the largest security companies in the United States.
KD will begin as Interim Chief on September 12. He is expected to remain in the position until the search for a permanent replacement is completed at a later date.
