County of Mecklenburg issued the following announcement on Mar. 12.
Time to change your clocks. This is a great time to make sure your smoke alarms are working properly, too!
Smoke alarms with non-replaceable batteries are designed to work for up to 10 years. If the alarm chirps, the battery is low. That means time to replace the entire smoke alarm right away.
Smoke alarms with any other type of battery need a new battery at least once a year. Hear that chirping? Replace the battery right away to keep your home safe.
