Kindness is defined as the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate.

Town of Mint Hill issued the following announcement on Feb. 15.

Kindness is defined as the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate. Like empathy, the heart of kindness is action. What does kindness look like to you? How can we intentionally be kind to others? A few examples I’ve seen practiced in our community are:

1. Taking the time to smile and say hello to a stranger.

2. Paying it forward in the coffee line or just letting someone else go first at the store.

3. Donating toys or clothing to Servant’s Heart, blood at a community drive or groceries to a local food bank.

4. Setting your neighbor’s trash cans at the street.

5. Holding the door for another behind you.

6. Sending an encouraging email or writing a note of appreciation.

7. Supporting local businesses by choosing to shop and dine with them or leaving positive reviews online.

8. Running an errand for an elderly family member or busy friend.

Free at-home COVID-19 tests are available at the Mint Hill Library on Mondays and Thursdays from 10:00 am – 7:00 pm. Kits are available via curbside pick-up while supplies last. One test will be provided to each County resident at no cost. Please visit https://buff.ly/3sEURks for up-to-date program information.

When we witness kindness, we’re inspired to be kind ourselves. Let’s spark a chain reaction of kindness in Mint Hill this week.
