Southern Evangelical Seminary & Bible College issued the following announcement on Jan. 19.

Newly released emails reveal that U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona was the mastermind behind the controversial letter likening parents to domestic terrorists for advocating for their children. The letter sought to label parents as “angry mobs” for speaking out against masking their children at schools and raising concerns about materials promoting trans activism, pedophilia, and critical race theory. Furthermore, any parental disagreement with school boards, according to the letter, should be classified as “heinous actions [that] could be the equivalent to a form of domestic terrorism and hate crimes.”

In response to this alarming revelation, Judge Phil Ginn, president of Southern Evangelical Seminary, calls for Christians and parents alike to be vigilant.

“The evil days that Paul warned us about in the 5th chapter of Ephesians, which we have talked about for years in the Christian community, have now arrived with a fury not previously seen in America,” stated Ginn.

“Newly released emails now reveal that all of the controversial messaging concerning parents who confront school boards about what is taught to their children being ‘domestic terrorists’ actually originated not with Homeland Security or the FBI or even the media, but from Miguel Cardona, the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Education. While this governmental barrage was not necessarily directed at Christians, do not make the mistake of thinking that Christianity is not the primary target of such tactics.”

Ginn continued, “Paul also tells us in Ephesians 5 to ‘wake up’ and allow ‘Christ to make day dawn on us.’ It’s time for Christians in America to deepen our faith and to respond prayerfully and thoughtfully, yet resolutely to these frontal assaults on our beliefs. We at Southern Evangelical Seminary believe that all Christians should know what they believe and why they believe it and then be courageous enough to defend their faith and proclaim the Gospel message of a loving Redeemer King. That’s why we have chosen to be determinedly Steadfast in the Truth. ‘Here we stand; we can do no other!’”
