County of Mecklenburg issued the following announcement on Sept. 10.
Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation is launching the Conservation Conversations speaking series on Thursday, Sept. 16. This series of presentations will take place on the third Thursday of each month, running September 2021 through May 2022.
This series of guest speakers discusses current conservation efforts, successes and ways to get involved in the local environmental movement. Presentation topics include biodiversity, environmental hazards, water quality and local transportation.
Two registration options are available:
1. In-person: 6:30-8:00 p.m. (masks required; capacity 40 participants)
2. Virtual webinar: 7:00-8:00 p.m. (WebEx event; capacity 100 participants)
