Gov. Roy Cooper said on Oct. 22 that four North Carolinians had won NCWorks Awards of Distinction.
The four recipients, including Earl Wright of Charlotte, were recognized during the annual NCWorks Partnership Conference, which was held this year in a virtual format, a release from the governor's office said.
"These award winners are focused on getting North Carolina job-ready, connecting workers to the skills they need as well as employers who need those workers," Cooper said in the release. "Each of these honorees stands out for their contributions to develop our state's workforce and has a big role in helping our state recover from [the] economic challenges that we face."
Wright, who serves as an outreach job advisor at the NCWorks Career Center in Charlotte, received the Wayne Daves Award for Outstanding Achievement in Workforce Development. According to the release, Wright's contributions have placed 589 individuals with employment, with salaries ranging between $28,000-$64,000 per year in Mecklenburg County.
