Town of Huntersville recently issued the following announcement on Jan. 27.
HUNTERSVILLE 101 RETURNS FOR 2020 - PROGRAM BEGINS FEBRAURY 26TH
Join the ranks of more than 100 residents who have signed up and participated in Huntersville 101. Huntersville 101 is a seven-week program that provides program participants with a detailed snapshot of the Town, its staff and major projects underway.
The 2020 Class Registration is Under Way! Participants are asked to commit to attending all seven weeks of classes, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. (note - some sessions may run until 12:30 p.m.) for seven consecutive Wednesdays beginning February 26th.

Each participant is asked to commit to the 7-week schedule to be considered for the class. The tentative schedule is below. Classes will be from 10AM to Noon (Note: some may run closer to 12:30) on Wednesdays, beginning at the end of February.
February 26 – Intro and Town History
March 4 – Town Manager, Finance and EDC
March 11 – Planning and Transportation Planning·
March 18 – Engineering and Public Works
March 25 – Parks & Rec / Tour of HFFA
April 1 – Police
April 8 – Fire
Huntersville 101 equips participants with knowledge to share with members of the community and provides a solid foundation for serving on town appointed boards and committees. Past residents have successfully applied for and been appointed to Town advisory boards such as the Planning Board, Parks and Recreation Commission and Board of Adjustment. Other participants have gone on to serve the community in an elected capacity.
