On Tuesday, March 18, former Independence High School standout Nygell Verdier’s current collegiate team the UNC Pembroke Braves lost 76-74 against the Lenoir-Rhyne Bears in the NCAA Division II Basketball Championship Tournament.
Hosted in Frank G. Lumpkin Jr. Center, this was the first game against the Lenoir-Rhyne Bears during the championship.
Nygell Verdier’s hometown is Charlotte and game positions are forward and guard.
